Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

2023.\t<\/span>At the 23rd meeting, on 16 June 2008, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, Richard Falk, presented the report of the previous mandate-holder (<\/span>A\/HRC\/7\/17<\/a>). <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2024.\t<\/span>The representatives of Israel and Palestine made statements, as the concerned countries.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2025.\t<\/span>During the ensuing interactive dialogue, at the same meeting, the following made statements:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>(a<\/i>)\t<\/span>Representatives of States members of the Council: Brazil, China, Cuba, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan (on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference), Slovenia (on behalf of the European Union), South Africa, Sri Lanka, Switzerland; <\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>(b<\/i>)\t<\/span>Observers for non-governmental organizations: B’nai B’rith International (also on behalf of the Coordinating Board of Jewish Organizations), International Commission of Jurists, United Nations Watch, Union of Arab Jurists (also on behalf of the Arab Lawyers Union, the General Arab Federation, the International Association of Democratic Lawyers, International Educational Development, Inc. and the International Organization for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination).<\/p><\/div>\n

2026.\t<\/span>At the same meeting, the Special Rapporteur answered questions and made his concluding remarks. <\/p><\/div>\n

B.  Reports presented under agenda item 7 and general debate on that item<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

2027.\t<\/span>At the 23rd meeting, on 16 June 2008, the High Commissioner for Human Rights reported on the progress made with regard to the implementation of Council resolutions 7\/1 (<\/span>A\/HRC\/8\/17<\/a>) and 6\/19 (<\/span>A\/HRC\/8\/18<\/a>). The High Commissioner gave an update relating to the high-level fact-finding mission to Beit Hanoun, in accordance with Council resolution S-3\/1 (see chap. II, para. 70).<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

2028.\t<\/span>The representatives for Israel, Palestine and the Syrian Arab Republic made statements, as concerned countries.<\/p><\/div>\n

2029.\t<\/span>During the ensuing general debate, at the 23rd and 24th meetings, on the same day, the following made statements:<\/p><\/div>\n
