I.  INTRODUCTION<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>The present report is submitted in pursuance of General Assembly resolutions 47\/63 A and B of 11 December 1992. The General Assembly, in its resolution 47\/63 A, which deals with Israeli policies in the Syrian territory occupied by Israel since 1967, called upon the international community to urge Israel to withdraw from the occupied Syrian Golan and other occupied Arab territories. In resolution 47\/63 B, which deals with the transfer by some States of their diplomatic missions to Jerusalem in violation of Security Council resolution 478 (1980) of 20 August 1980, the General Assembly called once more upon those States to abide by the provisions of the relevant United Nations resolutions.<\/p><\/div>\n

2.\t<\/span>The Secretary-General, in order to fulfil his reporting responsibility under the above-mentioned resolutions, on 16 August 1993 addressed notes verbales to the Permanent Representative of Israel and to the Permanent Representatives of the other Member States and requested them to inform him of any steps their Governments had taken or envisaged taking concerning implementation of the relevant provisions of those resolutions. As at 1 October 1993, two replies had been received, from Ecuador and Ghana.  Those replies are reproduced in section II of the present report.<\/p><\/div>\n

II.  REPLIES FROM MEMBER STATES<\/p><\/div>\n

1.\t<\/span>The Government of Ecuador has expressed continuing support for the negotiations going on within the framework of the Middle East Peace Conference.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

2.\t<\/span>The headquarters of Ecuador's diplomatic representation in Israel are located at Tel Aviv.<\/p><\/div>\n

GHANA<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Ghana severed all relations with Israel in 1975 and has, since then, urged Israel to withdraw from the occupied Arab territories, including Syria. The resolution on the transfer of diplomatic missions to Jerusalem does not apply to Ghana since Ghana has no diplomatic relations with Israel.<\/p><\/div>\n
