Official communiqué of the 4455th (closed) meeting of the Security Council<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Held in private at Headquarters, New York<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

on Monday, 21 January 2002, at 3 p.m.<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>In accordance with rule 55 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the following communiqué was issued through the Secretary-General in place of a verbatim record:<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>“On 21 January 2002, the Security Council, pursuant to Annex II, Section A, of <\/span>resolution 1353 (2001)<\/a>, held its 4455th meeting in private with the troop-contributing countries to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>“The Security Council and the troop-contributing countries heard a briefing under rule 39 of its provisional rules of procedure by Mr. Hédi Annabi, Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>“The members of the Council had a constructive exchange of views with representatives of participating troop-contributing countries.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>“Mr. Annabi responded to the comments and questions posed by members of the Council and representatives of troop-contributing countries.”\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n
