I should like to point out here the importance of the protection of children and respect for their basic rights, in particular the right to life, physical well-being and development, especially in occupied territories and in areas of armed conflict. In this connection, I believe that an end should be put to all violence and military acts directed against children in the occupied Arab territories. Israeli forces continue to kill Palestinian children and to ignore their cries for help. Those children are living under very difficult circumstances, and their plight weighs on the conscience of humanity.<\/p><\/div>\n
