\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government, and further to our previous letters concerning Israeli attacks against Lebanese territory, I have the honour to inform you of the following:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>At 2.30 a.m. on 19 January 1990, four Israeli war-planes carried out raids on the villages of Mlita, Ainbossoir and Loueize, in the district of Al-Toffah, in southern Lebanon, firing a number of heavy missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>Beginning at 11.40 a.m. on the same day, Israeli war-planes carried out further raids on Achrafie and Myeh-o-Myeh, situated east of Sidon.  In eight successive attacks, on average one every five minutes, each carried out by a formation of four aircraft, continuing intermittently until 1.20 p.m., they fired about 45 air-to-ground missiles. As a result, 20 people were killed or wounded and a number of dwellings and installations were destroyed and property laid to waste, apart from the fear which the raids instilled in the inhabitants of these areas, which are densely populated.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government, in protesting vigorously at this new act of aggression, which violated Lebanese sovereignty and the integrity of its airspace and territory and caused loss of life and the destruction of property, constituting a violation of international law and customs and recklessly endangering the lives and security of Lebanese citizens, reserves the right to call upon the Security Council to convene a meeting, if required by developments, with a view to considering the dangerous situation arising from these repeated Israeli attacks.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would have this letter circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under the item entitled "The situation in the Middle East" ,and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
