\n

\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government and further to our earlier letters concerning Israel's attacks on southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa and the arbitrary practices against the civilian inhabitants in which it engages on a daily basis, I have the honour to notify you of the series of such incidents that took place in June 1999.<\/p><\/div>\n

1 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0005 and 0625 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 81-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire towards areas around Ali al-Tahir and Dabshah hills, the abandoned Army barracks in Nabatiyah and the eastern parts of Kafr Tibnit from their positions on the aforementioned hills and on Suwayda hill.  Until 0625 hours they also bombarded the outlying areas of Yatar, Majdal Zun and Zibqin with 155-mm artillery shells from their position at Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0600 hours the Lahad proxy militia erected a barricade at the entrance of Jazzin West and prevented residents from entering or leaving the town. <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0755 and 0815 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Tumat Niha and areas around Bi'r Kilab, firing four air-to-surface missiles.  The proxy militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells at areas around Tilal al-Razlan and Jabal Sujud. <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1040 and 1120 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the environs of Mlikh, Mazra`at Kafra and Mafraq Abbas in the outlying areas of Jba`, firing three air-to-surface missiles.  The attack on Jba` totally destroyed the house of Husayn Kharibati and damaged 17 other houses.  Sultan al-Maqdad and Hamid al-Maqdad were both injured.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1200 hours the Lahad proxy militia prevented journalists at the Lajhat Rum entrance to Jazzin from entering the town and fired over their heads to intimidate them.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1330 and 1420 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South, and at 1340 attacked the Marjah region, Mafraq Abbas and the Sanawbarah locality outside Jba`, firing three air-to-surface missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1440 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Bayadah region to the east of Ayn al-Tinah, firing air-to-surface missiles.  At the same time, the artillery positions of the Israeli occupation forces at Kafr Hunah and Abu Qamhah bombarded Wadi al-Ghul to the east of Ayn al-Tinah, firing 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar shells. <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1500 hours Israeli occupation forces bombarded the Iqlim al-Tuffah and Mlita highlands, Luwayzah and Aqmata.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At intervals between 1455 and 1630 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South, breaking the sound barrier.  At 1525 they attacked Mafraq Abbas on the outskirts of Jba`, firing air-to-surface missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1515 and 1540 hours Israeli forces fired 15 120-mm mortar shells at areas along the Litani River opposite Zillaya from their position at Ahmadiyah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1550 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the outlying areas of Zillaya near Qasr Nabil Nasir, firing two air-to-surface missiles which destroyed a number of houses.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1600 hours Israeli forces fired several artillery shells at areas around Yatar from their position at Hardun.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1610 and 1630 hours Israeli warplanes overflew Tyre, Nabatiyah, Iqlim al-Tuffah, Beirut and its suburbs and Iqlim al-Khurub, breaking the sound barrier, alarming the population and breaking the windowpanes of many houses. <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1600 and 1910 hours Israeli forces fired 11 155-mm artillery shells at Zillaya, Tumat Niha and areas along the Litani River to the west of Zillaya from their positions at Ahmadiyah and in the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2145 and 2230 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells on the environs of Majdal Zun, Zibqin, Jibal al-Butm, Yatar, Tulin, Burj Qallawiyah, Ghanduriyah, Jba` and Wadi al-Qaysiyah from their positions at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint, Shurayfah and Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2200 hours the villages of Qallawiyah, Burj Qallawiyah and Wadi al-Hujayr came under artillery fire from the Israeli occupation force's position at Abbad.<\/p><\/div>\n

2 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0605 and 0730 hours Israeli occupation forces fired seven 155-mm artillery shells at Jabal al-Habib and Rahban from their position at Abu Qamhah. At the same time, Israeli warplanes overflew the Western Bekaa. <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0700 hours Israeli forces fired three 120-mm mortar shells at Mafraq Abbas on the outskirts of Jba` from their position at Rayhan.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0830 and 1800 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South at various altitudes. <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1215 hours Tumat Niha came under Israeli fire from positions of the Israeli occupation forces in the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1600 and 1625 hours Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar shells at the Masha`a region, Wadi Kafra and the environs of Jba` from their positions at Zafatah, Rayhan and Shurayfah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1700 and 1715 hours Israeli warplanes made two attacks on Jabal al-Batun, opposite Thuknah, and on Jazzin and Tumat Niha, firing air-to-surface missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2050 and 2230 hours Israeli forces and the Lahad militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells that fell around Yuhmur, Jba`, Mayfadun, Mazra`at al-Hamra, Wadi Kafra and Saluqi from their positions at Shurayfah, Abu Qamhah, the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint and Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2155 and 2245 hours Israeli forces fired 11 155-mm artillery shells in the direction of Tumat Niha and Birkat Jabbur from their position at Abu Qamhah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2210 hours Wadi al-Hujayr came under fire from 155-mm artillery shells originating from the position of the Israeli occupation forces at Abbad.  Twenty-five of the same type of shell were also fired on the outlying areas of Qabrikha.<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

3 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0020 and 0550 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad proxy militia fired a number of 155-mm artillery shells and directed several bursts of fire at the outlying areas of Mayfadun and Shukin and at Wadi Habbush and Wadi Kfur from their positions at Shurayfah, Zafatah, Bayadah, Suwaydah and Tahrah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0100 and 0640 hours Israeli forces fired 46 155-mm artillery shells in the direction of Jabal Bi'r al-Dahr and Tumat Niha from their position at Abu Qamhah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0115 hours the abandoned Army barracks in Nabatiyah came under fire from the Dabshah position of the Israeli occupation forces.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0410 and 0550 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At intervals between 0615 and 0720 hours Israeli occupation forces and the proxy militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 120-mm mortar shells on Wadi Kfur, the Yuhmur plain and the Mashari` region (the outlying areas of Jba`), Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah from their positions at Shurayfah and Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1300 and 1330 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the South, the Bekaa, the North and Mount Lebanon, breaking the sound barrier. <\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1420 hours Israeli forces fired three 155-mm artillery shells at the outlying areas of Zibqin and Jibal al-Butm from their position at Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1510 and 1520 hours the Lahad proxy militia fired five 81-mm mortar shells, which fell on the environs of Bra`shit, from their position at Tallat Bal`awil.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2240 and 2250 hours Israeli forces fired six 155-mm artillery shells at Jabbur in the outlying areas of Kafr Hunah from their position at Abu Qamhah.<\/p><\/div>\n

4 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0600 and 0620 hours Israeli occupation forces fired seven 155-mm artillery shells, which fell on the environs of Majdal Zun and Yatar, from their position at Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0710 hours the Lahad militia fired four 120-mm mortar shells, which fell on the Yuhmur plain, from their position at Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0725 and 0730 hours Israeli forces fired four 155-mm artillery shells, which fell on the outlying areas of Ghanduriyah, from their position at the Mays al-Jabal checkpoint.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0725 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at Qallawiyah, Burj Qallawiyah, Tulin and Wadi al-Hujayr from positions in the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1335 hours Israeli forces directed seven direct-fire rounds at areas around Adshit and Qusayr from the Tayyibah position.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1500 hours Israeli forces fired eight 155-mm artillery shells on the outlying areas of Jba` from their positions at Shurayfah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2100 and 2150 hours the Lahad proxy militia fired several 81-mm mortar shells and launched an illumination flare towards the outlying areas of Majdal Silm, and fired a number of 155-mm artillery shells on the Yuhmur plain from their positions at Hula, Tallusah and Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

5 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At intervals between 0215 and 0450 hours the Lahad proxy militia fired several 81-mm mortar shells, launched a number of illumination flares and directed several bursts of medium-weapons fire towards the outlying areas of Qabrikha, Majdal Silm, Bra`shit, Majdal Zun, Mansuri, Buyut al-Siyad, Wadi al-Saluqi and Hujayr from positions at Yahun, Hula, Qantarah, Hardun and Rajamayn.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0420 and 0430 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0550 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells, 120-mm mortar shells and direct-fire rounds on the outlying areas of Mansuri, Majdal Zun, Zibqin, Izziyah and Hinniyah from their positions at Hardun, Tall Ya`qub and Radar.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0645 and 0820 hours Israeli forces and the proxy militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells on the environs of Jba` and Yuhmur al-Shaqif from their positions at Shurayfah and Zafatah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1050 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Dalaytun-Hayturah outlying areas of Jba`, firing two air-to-surface missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1500 and 1530 hours Israeli forces fired three 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm mortar shells at the outlying areas of Majdal Zun, Mansuri and Wadi al-Saluqi from their positions at Tall Ya`qub and Dahr al-Maydun.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1615 hours Israeli occupation forces fired three artillery shells at the Jibsuwayd area near Majdul Zun from positions in the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1620 and 1950 hours the proxy militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and two direct-fire rounds on the environs of Jarju` and Jabal al-Rafi`.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2150 hours Israeli forces bombarded the outlying areas of Mansuri from their position at Radar.<\/p><\/div>\n

6 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0000 hours Israeli occupation forces fired eight artillery shells at the outlying areas of Majdal Zun, Zibqin and Jibal al-Butm from their position at Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0400 hours Israeli forces fired four 120-mm mortar shells at the outlying areas of Mansuri and Majdal Zun from their position on Radar hill.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0705 hours the Lahad militia fired three 155-mm artillery shells at the outlying areas of Mazra`at al-Hamra, the Iqlim al-Tuffah heights and areas along the Zahrani River from the Zafatah position.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0730 hours the abandoned Lebanese Army barracks in Nabatiyah, outlying areas of Nabatiyah al-Fawqa and areas around Tallat Dabshah came under heavy fire from the Dabshah position.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1435 and 1455 hours the Lahad proxy militia fired seven 120-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at the environs of Haddatha from the Shaqif al-Naml and Ruwaysat al-Jamus positions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1935 hours the outlying areas of Mansuri and Majdal Zun and the Nabi Amran and Qalilah areas came under artillery fire from the Israeli-Lahad militia artillery emplacements in the occupied strip.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1945 and 2045 hours Israeli warplanes overflew the Tyre and Tibnin areas at various altitudes and carried out three attacks on the environs of Sha`aytiyah and Zibqin, firing eight air-to-surface missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2030 hours the outlying areas of Mansuri, Majdal Zun and Zibqin came under fire from Israeli and militia artillery emplacements in the occupied strip, while at the same time Israeli warplanes overflew those areas at low altitudes.<\/p><\/div>\n

7 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>Between 0055 and 0545 hours Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at the outlying areas of Majdul Zun, Mansuri and Zibqin from their position on Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0430 and 0515 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri and Bayadah fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0700 hours the outlying areas of Qallawiyah, Tulin, Wadi al-Hujayr and Majdal Zun came under artillery fire from the Israeli occupation position at Abbad.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0740 hours the Lahad proxy militia, after firing on the Arnun-Yuhmur road with a view to intimidating Husayn Muhammad al-Dayrani and Husayn Ali Rayhan, arrested the two citizens.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1610 hours the Lahad militia fired one 81-mm mortar shell on Bayt Yahun from the Shaqif al-Naml position.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2015 and 2030 hours Israeli occupation forces and the client militia fired four 81-mm mortar shells, 120-mm artillery shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at the outlying areas of Bra`shit, Mansuri, Majdal Zun and Izziyah from their positions on the Bal`awil, Hardun and Ya`qub hills, and at Bayadah and Ma`bar al-Hamra.<\/p><\/div>\n

8 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 0005 hours Israeli occupation forces fired several 81-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at the abandoned Lebanese Army barracks in Nabatiyah from the Dabshah position.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0650 and 0745 hours Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells on Mazra`at al-Hamra, the Yuhmur plain and the outlying areas of Yatar and Majdal Zun from their positions at Shurayfah and Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The proxy militia kept the Bayt Yahun crossing closed to passage in both directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 1720 hours the proxy militia fired four 155-mm artillery shells on the environs of Jba` from the Zafatah position.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2110 hours Israeli forces fired three 155-mm artillery shells at Wadi al-Qaysiyah from the position at Mays al-Jabal.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

9 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0300 and 0400 hours an Israeli gunboat off Bayadah fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire in all directions.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0700 and 0740 hours Israeli occupation forces fired 10 155-mm artillery shells at the Yuhmur plain and the outlying areas of Majdal Zun and Yatar from their positions at Shurayfah and Tall Ya`qub.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 0900 and 1020 hours Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at the environs of Jba` and Kafr Milki; they also fired several 60-mm mortar shells, rifle-launched grenades and directed bursts of fire at the outlying areas of Arnun and Yuhmur from their positions at Shurayfah and Qal`ah.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 1430 and 1530 hours Israeli occupation forces and the Lahad militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at the outlying areas of Qabrikha, Tulin, Jarju`, Ayn Bu Siwar, Majdal Zun, Mansuri, Mazra`ah, Aqmata, Mlita hill, Wadi al-Hujayr and at areas around the Tasah spring from their positions at Tall Ya`qub, Shama`, Hardun, Rayhan, Ksarat al-Urush, Qantarah, Hula and Mays al-Jabal.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At intervals between 1655 and 1830 hours Israeli forces and their proxy militia directed several bursts of medium-weapons fire from their positions at Tahrah and Dabshah at the area around those two positions and at the village of Kafrman, wounding Mazin Hamad al-Khatib in Kafrman.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2025 and 2100 hours Israeli forces fired eight 155-mm artillery shells on the outlying areas of Tibnin, Haddatha and Haris from their positions at Mays al-Jabal and Jabal Balat.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2030 and 2140 hours Israeli forces and their proxy militia fired several 155-mm artillery shells and 81-mm and 120-mm mortar shells and directed bursts of fire and direct-fire rounds at the outlying areas of Ayn Bu Siwar, Jba`, Ayn Qana, Mazra`ah, Aqmata, Jabal al-Rafi`, Mlikh, Wadi Kafra, Habbush and at areas around the Tasah spring from the Shurayfah, Zafatah, Sujud hills, Dabshah, Suwaydah and Aramta positions.  The bombardment of Jba` damaged an inhabited house and two civilian cars.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Between 2135 and 2210 hours Israeli warplanes carried out three attacks on Jba` and Ayn Bu Siwar, firing air-to-surface missiles.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2030 and 2215 hours Israeli forces fired several 155-mm artillery shells at the Maydun hills and Jabal Abu Rashid from their positions at Abu Qamhah, Ibil al-Saqy, Tallat Zghalah and Ayn Qinya.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At 2040 hours 155-mm artillery shells were fired at the areas around Shaqra, Majdal Silm, Bra`shit and Tibnin from Israeli occupation positions in Muhaybib.<\/p><\/div>\n

10 June 1999<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At intervals between 0345 and 0530 hours an Israeli gunboat off Mansuri fired several bursts of medium-weapons fire.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>At the same time, Israeli warplanes overflew the South and at 1710 hours attacked the environs of Azibah.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2115 hours Israeli warplanes attacked Khirbat Silm and its environs, firing two air-to-surface missiles at buildings owned by Aly Husayn and at other buildings on the main Khirbat Silm road belonging to Qasim Ahmad Nur al-Din.  The high-tension cable that supplies electricity to the village was also cut.  At the same time, Israeli occupation artillery fired 155-mm artillery shells at the environs of Majdal Silm, Khirbat Silm, Frun, Ghanduriyah, Qallawiyah, Burj al-Qallawiyah, Wadi al-Hujayr and Wadi al-Qaysiyah.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 2030 and 2130 hours Israeli warplanes carried out four attacks on the Jumhur electricity station, leaving 4 dead and 25 injured.  Fires broke out, and considerable material damage was sustained.  The electricity supply to areas supplied by that station was disrupted.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2200 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Jiyah and al-Sa`diyat bridge area, leaving two dead and eight injured and destroying the bridge.  The warplanes then attacked the Awwali bridge, injuring six people, destroying the bridge and cutting the coast road to the South.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 2200 and 2400 hours Israeli warplanes carried out five attacks on the 6 February bridge at Zrariyah, firing several air-to-surface missiles.  The bridge was totally destroyed and two soldiers were injured.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2215 hours Israeli warplanes attacked the Imam Aly mosque area of Baalbek, destroying one building and injuring 20 civilians.  Several other buildings nearby were also damaged.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Between 0215 and 0230 hours Israeli warplanes carried out three attacks on an electricity station in Salim.  Material damage was caused to the station and the electricity supply in the area was disrupted.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>At 2100 hours the Lahad militia fired one 81-mm mortar shell and directed bursts of medium-weapons fire at the outlying areas of Bra`shit from the Tallat Bal`awil position.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>The Lebanese Government strongly condemns the continued Israeli occupation and the fresh attacks and arbitrary practices against the Lebanese civilian population that have left a number of dead and wounded and have caused further serious damage to property.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>Like previous attacks, this new series is in flagrant violation of the sovereignty and independence of Lebanon and constitutes a breach of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, of international law and of basic human rights.<\/p><\/div>\n
