of Palestine to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary-General<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I have been instructed by the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which has the powers and responsibilities of the Provisional Government of Palestine, to bring the following to your immediate attention:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\tAgain, the Israeli border guard attacked the village of Silwan, near Jerusalem, on 20 June 1990; killing three Palestinians of the ages 25, 17 and 57, and injuring ten of the residents of the village. The vicious attack of the Israeli army was carried out by the use of both live ammunition and rubber bullets, as well as a massive amount of tear gas that was used against the Palestinian unarmed civilians of the village of Silwan. The attack lasted for the consecutive period of two days non-stop. Currently, the village is under curfew.\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\t<\/span>We call upon the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel, the occupying Power, from continuing its atrocities against the Palestinian people. We further request that a statement be issued by the office of the Secretary-General condemning such acts of violence and calling upon Israel to abide by its legal international obligations, in conformity with the provisions of the Geneva Convention and the International Conventions on Human Rights.<\/p><\/div>\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you would arrange to have the text of the present letter circulated as an official document of the General Assembly, under items 23, 35 and 77 of the preliminary list, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
