 I have the honour to express Malaysia’s deep concerns with regard to the situation in the Gaza Strip resulting from the Israeli attacks that began on 14 November 2012. Since then, the aggression by Israel has caused the deaths of hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including women and children. The attacks by Israel have caused 1.6 million Palestinians to be in jeopardy, as the innocent civilians are isolated from receiving humanitarian aid due to the massive military action and the continued blockade of the Gaza Strip.<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

 The continued violence against Palestinian civilians, including women and children, the indiscriminate bombing and the shelling of populated areas must cease immediately and the flow of vital humanitarian and medical aid and supplies to the Palestinians in Gaza must resume without hindrance. The Security Council must shoulder its responsibility to take action to compel Israel to immediately cease its military attacks on the Palestinian Territory of Gaza.<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

 The Parliament of Malaysia and the Malaysian people join the international community in condemning the Israeli aggression. Such aggression is a breach of international law, including international humanitarian and human rights laws. The Israeli aggression is clearly a serious breach of the Charter of the United Nations. These developments are followed closely in Malaysia. Today, the Parliament of Malaysia passed a resolution condemning the attacks by Israel on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. In this connection, I would like to convey to you the resolution of the Parliament of Malaysia for your kind attention.* I am also requesting that the present letter be circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 37, and of the Security Council.<\/span> <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
