Letter dated 6 January 2009 from the Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

I have the honour to request that, in accordance with its previous practice, the Security Council invite Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and President of the Palestinian National Authority, to participate in the meeting of the Security Council, which is to be held on Tuesday, 6 January 2009, to discuss the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly in the Gaza Strip.<\/p><\/div>\n
