\t<\/span>I have the honour to attach herewith a letter from Mr. Zehdi Labib Terzi, Permanent Observer of the Palestine Liberation Organization to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council regarding the hijacking of an Egypt-Air aircraft to Malta.<\/p><\/div>\n

Palestine Liberation Organization to the United Nations<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

addressed to the President of the Security Council<\/u><\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

\t<\/span>On instructions from Yasser Arafat, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), I wish to convey to you the following:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Palestine Central Council, an organ of the PLO presently meeting in Baghdad, Iraq, issued a statement on 24 November 1985 in which it expressed strong disapproval of the hijacking of the Egyptian aircraft bound from Athens to Cairo and condemned its perpetrators and the parties behind such a despicable terroristic action. The Council considers that this cowardly act of terrorism, to which innocent travellers fell victim, had the aim of harming the Arab nation in general and the Egyptian people in particular, and that it gives the enemies of the Arab nation a priceless opportunity to slander its reputation and damage it in the eyes of world public opinion.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Proceeding from its firmly established position of condemning all forms of international terrorism (including terrorism committed by States, particularly Israel, against peoples under colonialism and foreign occupation struggling for their freedom and independence and of endeavouring to halt and eliminate such terrorism, the PLO has announced that it is placing all of its capacities at the disposal of the Government and people of Egypt so that they may take whatever measures they deem appropriate to cope with the present situation and to protect the lives of innocent passengers.<\/p><\/div>\n
