\t<\/span>On instructions from my Government and further to our previous letters concerning Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, I have the honour to inform you of the following:<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

1.\t<\/span>At 2.00 p.m. on Thursday, 23 November 1989, aircraft of the Israeli air force made an incursion over the eastern Bekaa valley region and bombarded it with heavy projectiles.  The incursion was accompanied by intense artillery bombardment which caused the death of one citizen, wounded four others and destroyed several buildings.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>At the same time, the war planes attacked the western Bekaa area, wounding two people and causing enormous losses in buildings and property.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

2.\t<\/span>At 10.40 a.m. on Saturday, 25 November 1989, barely 48 hours after the two previous attacks, Israeli war planes attacked the area again, launching various delayed-action heavy projectiles so that explosions continued for several hours after the attack, which was also accompanied by violent artillery bombardment of the targeted area.  As a result of the attack, several civilians were wounded, a number of buildings destroyed and various properties damaged.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>The Government of Lebanon, condemns and repudiates these latest attacks on its sovereignty, its territory and its inhabitants and appeals to the international community to try to put an end to such Israeli aggression.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>Lebanon reserves the right to call for a meeting of the Security Council at an appropriate time to consider the Israeli attacks.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

\n

\t<\/span>I should be grateful if you could have this letter circulated as a document of the General Assembly, under agenda item 37, and of the Security Council.<\/p><\/div>\n
