The Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People convened the United Nations Roundtable on the Question of Palestine on 4 February 2017 in Managua, Nicaragua. The theme of the roundtable wasl “Building Bridges with Palestinian Diaspora in Central America”. The roundtable brrought together prominent Palestinians, including Mayors of Bethlehem and Beit Jala, representatives of the diaspora, including former Prime Minister of Belize Mr. Said Musa, academic experts to raise awareness about the critical situation on the ground and encourage constructive dialogue about practical ways in which the Palestinian diaspora in Central America can advocate for ending the occupation and support humanitarian relief, education, health and development efforts in Palestine. The diaspora representatives adopted a Managua Declaration.
Bajo los auspicios del Comité para el Ejercicio de los Derechos Inalienables del Pueblo Palestino, el 4 de febrero de 2017 se celebrará en Managua, Nicaragua, una Jornada de las Naciones Unidas sobre la cuestión de Palestina. El tema de la jornada será “Tendiendo puentes con la diáspora Palestina en América Central”.
La jornada reunirá a destacados palestinos, representantes de las Naciones Unidas y académicos para sensibilizar al público sobre la crítica situación existente sobre el terreno. También pretende alentar un diálogo constructivo sobre las formas prácticas en que la diáspora palestina en América Central puede propugnar el fin de la ocupación y apoyar las actividades de asistencia humanitaria, educación, salud y desarrollo en Palestina.
