On 29 November 2018, The United Nations General Assembly will observe the annual International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, pursuant to General Assembly resolution 32/40 B of 2 December 1977. The occasion marks the adoption by the General Assembly of resolution 181 (II) on 29 November 1947 partitioning the mandate of Palestine into two States.
Events to commemorate Solidarity day will be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 28 – 30 November 2018.
28 November:
10:00 a.m.- Special Meeting – Trusteeship Council Chamber.
29 November:
3.00 p.m. – General Assembly begins consideration of “Question of Palestine”.
6.30 p.m. – Other activities organized in New York in connection with the observance include the opening of a photo exhibit “70 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – Palestinian Nakba” in the Visitors’ lobby of UN Headquarters.
30 November:
10.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. – Annual General Assembly debate.

Statements delivered and messages received on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity will be published on the Committee’s website.
Guests:
The special meeting on the 28th and Exhibit on the 29th are open to the public.
UN pass holders and accredited civil society organizations (CSOs) and media can attend all meetings.
