After cold, rain, wind and floods, a new layer of misery for the displaced people in the Gaza Strip. Days of sandstorms have blotted out the sky and deposited dust across tent camps.
It’s an extra challenge when people struggle to get enough water to wash and it worsens respiratory and skin diseases in a place where the health system has all but collapsed amid the war.
UNRWA’s medical and water supply teams are working tirelessly to help people in need.
International aid efforts must mean bringing back dignity for people in Gaza, with increased shelter supplies and no hurdles to operations on the ground.
Time to lift the restrictions.
