French President Emmanuel Macron had a telephone conversation today with the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, to discuss several international issues.

On the Middle East, the French President expressed his concern about the possibility of the United States unilaterally recognizing Jerusalem as capital of the State of Israel. M. Emmanuel Macron recalled that the issue of Jerusalem’s status will have to be resolved in the framework of the peace negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians, focusing in particular on the establishment of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security with Jerusalem as their capital.
The French President and President Trump agreed to discuss the issue again soon./.
