C. Right of the Palestinian people to self-determination

  1. In its resolution 75/172, the General Assembly reaffirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, including the right to their independent State of Palestine (para. 1). It also urged all States and the specialized agencies and organizations of the United Nations system to continue to support and assist the Palestinian people in the early realization of their right to self-determination (para. 2). The Assembly also referred to the realization of the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination, in its resolutions 75/22, 75/23, 75/96 and 75/98.
  2. In its resolution 75/20, the General Assembly, having considered the report of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (A/75/35), requested the Committee, inter alia, to continue to exert all efforts to promote the realization of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination (para. 2). The Assembly invited all Governments and organizations to extend their cooperation and support to the Committee in the performance of its tasks, recalling its repeated call for all States and the specialized agencies and organizations of the United Nations system to continue to support and assist the Palestinian people in the early realization of their right to self-determination, including the right to their independent State of Palestine (para. 8).
  3. In its resolution 75/236, the General Assembly reaffirmed the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people over their natural resources, including land, water and energy resources (para. 1).
