Friday 15 May marks 72 years of the Nakba (Catastrophe), which has seen the Palestinians oppressed and expelled from their homes, their properties expropriated and their legitimate rights denied.

On this occasion, the General Secretariat reaffirms the centrality of the Palestinian cause for the OIC, reiterating its firm and full support to the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to recover and exercise their national, inalienable rights. It also calls on the international community to continue to support fully the Palestinians to regain their national rights, most notably the right to return to the homeland within the two-state solution, and the right to have their own independent State, with eastern Al-Quds as its capital, as established in the Arab initiative and in UN resolutions.
