The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), welcomed Paraguay’s decision to remove its embassy from the occupied City of Al Quds / Jerusalem, and viewed the decision as a firm signal of Paraguay’s respect to honoring its legal and political commitments under international law and relevant UN resolutions.
The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, asserted that this is a step taken in the right direction. He reiterated the illegitimacy of any measure that could prejudice the historical and legal status of the occupied City of Al Quds, and called on all world states to adopt stands and measures that support the chances for achieving a peace based on the Two-State solution and for consolidating stability in the region.
