The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the storming by hundreds of extremist settlers and a Knesset member, into the blessed Aqsa Mosque and the violation of its sanctity under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, and the continued Israeli military aggression on the Gaza Strip, leading to the martyrdom of 31 people, including 6 children and 4 women. 250 Palestinian citizens were injured. This serious escalation constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and relevant international resolutions and covenants.

The OIC also held Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for the possible repercussions of these serious violations aimed at imposing the temporal and spatial division of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that such an escalation would exacerbate tension and provoke continued violence and instability.

Furthermore, the OIC stressed that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif, with its entire area of 144 donums, is a place of worship for Muslims only. It also called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to take immediate action to put an end to these repeated attacks and violations, and to oblige Israel, the occupying power, to respect the sanctity of the holy sites, preserve the legal and historical status of the blessed Aqsa Mosque, and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
