Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr Hissein Brahim Taha, received at his office on 2 January 2023 the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the OIC, Ambassador Dr Maher Karaki.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General received a written update from H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine on the critical developments in the Palestinian territories, especially the Occupied Al-Quds.
It also touched on the recent voting pattern on draft resolutions on Palestine at the United Nations, in particular the resolution requesting the International Court of Justice to issue an opinion on the legal consequences of ongoing violations by Israel, the occupying power, of the Palestinian peoples’ right to self-determination
The Secretary-General emphasized that the Cause of Palestine and Al-Quds has been the central issue on the OIC agenda since inception and continues to be at the top of its concerns and political actions with international actors.
