The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, addressed a written letter to UN counterpart Antonio Guterres, confirming the Organization’s supportive stand vis-à-vis the Palestinian cause. He expressed concern over Israel’s violations against east Jerusalem (al-Quds) population, and called on the UN to pressurize Israel, the occupying force, to cease its violations against the Palestinians of al-Quds and allow them to stand for, campaign for and cast their votes in Palestinian elections, in keeping with international resolutions and signed agreements.
