  • The situation in Gaza remains volatile, with recurrent clashes along the perimeter fence with Israel and regular exchange of rocket fire and missiles between armed groups in Gaza and the Israeli military.
  • On Friday 26 October, mass protests at the perimeter fence resulted in five Palestinians being killed and over 200 injured. The following day, Israeli planes carried out 91 air strikes across Gaza in response to around 30 rockets fired from Gaza into Israel. The Israeli air strikes resulted in serious damage to Palestinian military sites, homes and buildings including the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza Strip.
  • On Sunday 28 October, three boys aged 13 and 14 were killed by an Israeli air strike near the perimeter fence. The Israeli military claimed that the boys were involved in planting an explosive device adjacent to the fence. On Monday 29 October another Palestinian was reportedly killed.
  • According to UN agencies, between 30 March and 6 October, 205 Palestinians have been killed and 22 267 injured during demonstrations along the perimeter fence.
