Palestine-Gaza (DG ECHO, UN, media)

  • On Saturday 30 March, five Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire during large-scale demonstrations at the perimeter fence with Israel. This brings the total of Palestinians killed in the context of the Great March of Return to 200 in the last twelve months, with over 29 000 injured. 7 000 Palestinians have been wounded by live ammunition.
  • The health sector in Gaza is overwhelmed by the significant caseload of patients. Many patients have suffered extensive bone and tissue damage and will require complex surgeries and long-term care. Due to a lack of resources and major access and import restrictions, the humanitarian situation in the health sector in Gaza remains very challenging.
