On 3 October 2019, H.E. Mr. Cheikh Niang, Permanent Representative of Senegal to the United Nations and Chair of the Committee, met in Dublin with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Ireland, Mr. Simon Coveney to discuss the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory and prospects for peace in the region. Also present in the meeting were H.E. Mr. Riyad Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, as well as other Irish and Palestinian officials.
