On 20 November, at its 397th meeting, the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People unanimously endorsed the four draft resolutions to be voted in the GA on 3 December (on the Committee, the Division for Palestinian Rights, the Special Programme on Palestine of the Department of Global Communications and on the Peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine). The Committee also heard a sobering briefing by James McGoldrick, UNSCO’s Deputy Special Coordinator/Humanitarian Coordinator/Resident Coordinator on the humanitarian situation in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and Gaza. The Committee’s Rapporteur a.i. (Afghanistan), reported on the latest Committee activities. The Chair briefed on the Special Meeting and upcoming events in observance of the International Day of Solidarity, taking place on 27 November.
