This painting was created by Macedonia's noted surrealist painter, Vasko Taskovski (1937 – ) who graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade, Serbia in 1964. His work is heavily referential of surrealism and futurism with mechanised and distorted natural forms taking mainstage in many of his works.

In this painting the artist has created a moving and inspirational interpretation of the dove, a widely recognized symbol of peace. This dove, with its white outstretched wings, embraces a sunny futuristic world with floating spacecraft and green lush gardens below, beckoning the viewer to peacefully convene within. 

This painting is a gift from Macedonia to the UN to mark the occasion of Macedonia becoming a UN member in 2000.
