{"id":44406,"date":"2018-02-02T15:41:33","date_gmt":"2018-02-02T15:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/?p=44406"},"modified":"2018-04-22T11:46:03","modified_gmt":"2018-04-22T15:46:03","slug":"partnership-key-ensuring-children-can-access-education-senior-un-officials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/blog\/2018\/02\/partnership-key-ensuring-children-can-access-education-senior-un-officials\/","title":{"rendered":"Partnership key to ensuring all children can access education \u2013 senior UN officials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stressing the importance of quality education for the future of young people and children, senior United Nations officials, including the head of its education agency and the UN youth envoy, called for cooperation to strengthen education and learning programmes in all corners of the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo single country or agency can tackle the challenges of demographics, persisting conflicts, unequal access of girls and women to education, radicalization by groups with vested interests or environment degradation,\u201d Audrey Azoulay, the Director-General of the UN Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.unesco.org\/new\/en\/unesco\/\">UNESCO<\/a>), said in a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AAzoulay\/status\/959388494215962625\">Tweet<\/a>\u00a0(in French), referring to her participation at the Global Partnership for Education Financing Conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPartnership is the only way to make this possible,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Convened by the Presidents of France and Senegal, in Dakar, the Conference seeks to raise funds to support education efforts in both humanitarian and non-humanitarian contexts.
