The agreement sets a course for all countries to limit global temperature rise and to strengthen resilience to the inevitable impacts of climate change. The entry into force of the Paris Agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter for humankind and demonstrates that countries are serious about addressing climate change.<\/p>\n<p>To commemorate this historic day for people and the planet, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will invite representatives of civil society groups to a conversation with him at the UN Headquarters.
