The UN and Climate Action
Goal 13 calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. It is intrinsically linked to all 16 of the other Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. To address climate change, countries adopted the Paris Agreement to limit global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees Celsius.

Representatives from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) around the world will review progress and assess opportunities for sustainable development at the Inter-regional Preparatory Meeting for the Midterm Review of the SAMOA Pathway, organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS), and the Government of Samoa.
