The Department of Global Communications is partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment and the UN Foundation for a second time on an initiative to promote the Sustainable Development Goal 13 – take urgent action against climate change and its impacts.

The #AngryBirdsHappyPlanet campaign features the animated characters and voice actors of the upcoming film The Angry Birds Movie 2 (due for release in the United States in mid-August and internationally in September 2019). Through the campaign, the Birds and the Pigs will join forces to support the United Nations’ ActNow campaign, a global call to individual action to tackle climate change. The Angry Birds will direct digital audience to the UN ActNow website to educate and encourage individual action that leads to behavioral change.
