On 23 September 2018, the SDG Advocates hosted a unique event at the UN during the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly: a reception celebrating the contributions of leaders and key partners from around the world who have championed the SDGs, and reaffirming their commitment to the 2030 Agenda. Hosted by Prime Minister Solberg of Norway, MC’d by SDG Advocate Richard Curtis of Project Everyone, and featuring remarks by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, this event brought together leaders from diverse sectors to recognize existing commitments, highlight substantial progress, and encourage non-UN actors to further action to achieve the SDGs. Private sector leaders, civil society leaders, philanthropic leaders, international organization leaders, government leaders, and media leaders were invited into the UN and came together to share the ways they have committed to implementing the SDGs in their sphere, and to challenge one another to do more.
