The United Nations Southern Climate Partnership Incubator (SCPI) and the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), together with Beijing Qiaonyu Foundation and the China Global Philanthropy Institute convened a special event entitled “Boosting South-South Cooperation through Philanthropy” on 18 May 2017 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

At the event, representatives from United Nations, United Nations agencies, Member States, Foundations and private sector forged consensus on the importance of boosting South-South cooperation by leveraging emerging powers from the field of philanthropy; discussed innovative strategies and practical approaches on the focused topic; and helped build the platform and strengthen network to incubate additional communication and cooperation on innovative strategies and practices among multi-stakeholders, in particular the philanthropists, for sustainable South-South cooperation.
