The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Luigi Di Maio, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Italy. The Secretary-General appreciated Italy’s support for multilateralism and the United Nations, as well as its leadership in the G20 and COP26. The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister also exchanged views on the climate agenda, as well as on the situations in Afghanistan and Libya.
