The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
 
The Secretary-General noted Azerbaijan’s efforts to promote international cooperation on a range of issues, including countering terrorism and violent extremism, as well as its efforts to promote sustainable development.
 
The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on the recent developments related to the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, and in that regard, the Secretary-General expressed his full support for the important efforts of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
