The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey.

The Secretary-General underlined Turkey’s key role in addressing many of the regional and global issues.

The Secretary-General and the President discussed the serious situation in Myanmar, with the Secretary-General thanking Turkey for its humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya refugees. The Secretary-General and the President also exchanged views on latest developments in Syria and Iraq.
