The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, President of Mali.

The Secretary-General stressed the urgency of developing a strategy and timeline for implementing key reforms envisioned in the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali. The Secretary-General and the President discussed efforts to address security challenges in the Sahel region, including the operationalization of the G5 Sahel Joint Force within a political framework integrating aspects of governance and development.

Le Secrétaire général a souligné l’urgence de développer une stratégie et un échéancier pour mettre en œuvre les réformes clés de l'Accord pour la paix et la réconciliation au Mali. Le Secrétaire général et le Président ont discuté des efforts visant à faire face aux problèmes de sécurité dans la région du Sahel, y compris l'opérationnalisation de la Force Conjointe du G5 Sahel dans un cadre politique intégrant les aspects de gouvernance et de développement.
