The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Ms. Michaëlle Jean, Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (IOF). He welcomed the fruitful collaboration between the two organizations in addressing global peace and security challenges, promoting good governance and preventing violent extremism.
The Secretary-General commended the IOF for its engagement on climate change and expressed his full support for the upcoming COP22 meeting in Morocco. He encouraged the IOF to continue its efforts to defuse any potential electoral violence in Gabon. He expressed the hope that the IOF would support his new approach to Cholera in Haiti.
