The Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the unfolding developments in Burkina Faso. He strongly condemns any attempt to seize power by the force of arms and calls on all actors to refrain from violence and seek dialogue. 

The Secretary-General expresses his full support for regional efforts towards a swift return to constitutional order in the country. Burkina Faso needs peace, stability and unity to fight terrorist groups and criminal networks operating in parts of the country.

The Secretary-General also reaffirms the commitment of the United Nations to accompany the people of Burkina Faso in their efforts towards durable peace and stability.   

 
Le Secrétaire général est profondément préoccupé par l'évolution de la situation au Burkina Faso. Il condamne fermement toute tentative de prise de pouvoir par la force des armes et appelle tous les acteurs à s'abstenir de toute violence et à rechercher le dialogue. 
 
Le Secrétaire général exprime son plein soutien aux efforts régionaux visant à un retour rapide à l'ordre constitutionnel dans le pays. Le Burkina Faso a besoin de paix, de stabilité et d'unité pour combattre les groupes terroristes et les réseaux criminels qui opèrent dans certaines parties du pays.
 
Le Secrétaire général réaffirme également l'engagement des Nations Unies à accompagner le peuple burkinabé dans ses efforts vers une paix et une stabilité durables.
