Statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on attack in Afghanistan

The Secretary-General strongly condemns the attack on a United Nations vehicle in Kabul today, which killed a United Nations colleague and injured two others. He expresses his deepest condolences to the family of the victim and wishes a swift recovery to the injured.
 

The Secretary-General calls on the Afghan authorities to spare no effort in identifying and swiftly bringing to justice the perpetrators of this attack. He reaffirms the United Nations’ commitment to continue to assist the Government and people of Afghanistan as the country strives for sustainable peace and development.
