Secretary-General's Radio Message to the People of the Central African Republic

Greetings to the people of the Central African Republic.
A baba, a mama, a moléngé ti Bèafrika, mbi bala ala kwé.

This is Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
So mbi Ban Ki-moon, kota wa kwasu, ti kota bumbi, ti béndo ti gigi.

I have just visited your country to show my solidarity, hear your stories and share them with the world.
Mbi gwé lani na kodoro ti ala, ti fa söngö so ayéké na popo ti mbi na ala, nga ti ma na mè ti mbi tene so a yéké na  bè ti ala, si fadé mbi fa péko ni na dunia mobimba.

I continue to appeal to you. 
Mbi mgba lakwe ti unda na ala.

Stop fighting.  Build peace.
Ala zia bira. Ala lèkèrè kodoro ti ala na légé ti siriri.

Many of your fellow citizens have fled their homes.  They must feel safe to return.
A ita ti ala mingi a kpé yanga da ti ala. Ala lingbi ti kiri na sé tèrè na kodoro ti ala.

Muslims and Christians have always lived together in peace.
A Monsilmi na a Wamabê a bungbi kwé oko si a duti na siriri na ya kodoro so.

Don’t let extremists destroy your children’s future.
Ala zia a zo ti wataka, nga na a zo ti bingo usu usu a buba kodoro ti ala, nga na dunia ti a moléngé ti ala pèpè.

Those abusing human rights will be brought to justice.
Fadé kota gbanga a ké pika katé ti a wa fango zö, nga na a zö so a buba sé duti ti a séwa.

You will not be able to build your future through partition and bloodshed. Your future will be built through unity and peace.
Ala lingbi ti lèkèrè kékéréké ti ala, na kangbingo kodoro, wala na tungungo mènè ti ala mbéni pèpè. Kékéréké ti ala, a lingbi ti duti na ya ti mango tèrè, nga na ya ti siriri.

These are difficult days.  But I have hope. 
Ata so kpalé ayéké mingi, mabè ti mbi a ngba ngangu.

I will always stand with you for security, justice and dignity for all the people of your beautiful  country. 
Mbi yéké duti andè lakwé na popo ti ala, ndali ti tènè (tin-nin) ti séni, na ti fango ngbanga, nga na tènè (tin-nin) ti nèngo fini ti a moléngé ti pèndèrè kodoro ti ala.
