Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Najib Azmi Mikati, President of the Council of Ministers of Lebanon

The Secretary-General met with H.E. Najib Azmi Mikati, President of the Council of Ministers of Lebanon. The Secretary-General expressed grave concern over recent security developments in Lebanon, the continued exchanges of fire across the Blue Line and the risk of a regional conflagration. They discussed the importance of implementing Security Council resolutions 1701 (2006) and highlighted the contribution of UNIFIL in maintaining stability.

They also discussed the humanitarian situation in Lebanon.
