The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Li Qiang, Premier of the People’s Republic of China. The Secretary-General thanked Premier Li for China’s steadfast contribution to the United Nations and its activities.

The Secretary-General and the Premier discussed regional peace and security issues. They also discussed the need for urgent climate action and institutional reforms, including within the international financial architecture. The Secretary-General expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation with China in all the pillars of United Nations activity.
