The Secretary-General met with H.E. Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire. The Secretary-General and the President exchanged views on the situation in Côte d’Ivoire, as well as on developments in West Africa and the Sahel.
 
The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Côte d’Ivoire’s efforts during its tenure as a non-permanent Member of the Security Council for the period 2018-2019 and for its contribution to UN peace efforts in West Africa and the Sahel.
