The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.  The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister exchanged views on developments in the region.
 
The Secretary-General reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and stability in South Asia through political dialogue, diplomatic solutions and respect for human rights.
