The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Taneti Maamau, President of the Republic of Kiribati.
 
They discussed climate change in light of Kiribati’s vulnerabilities. The Secretary-General also underlined the importance of maintaining the momentum on climate action in the run up to COP 23. The Secretary-General and the President also exchanged views on peace and security issues in the region.
