The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, on the margins of the World Economic Forum.

The Secretary-General emphasized two key goals for this year: shaping a post-2015 sustainable development agenda and reaching a meaningful, universal agreement on climate change in Paris in December.

The Secretary-General said that he counted on the support of the European Parliament in shaping a transformative sustainable development agenda and voiced appreciation for the European Union's strong and steadfast leadership in addressing climate change.

They also discussed the situation in Ukraine, as well as global efforts to address terrorism.
