The Secretary-General met today with H.E. Mr. Evo Morales Ayma, President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference.

The Secretary-General congratulated the President on his re-election, expressing hope that the United Nations and Bolivia will further enhance their already excellent partnership.

On climate change, he thanked Bolivia for its strong support for a universal, meaningful climate agreement in Paris in 2015.

The Secretary-General noted Bolivia’s able leadership as chair of the G77, noting the key role the group plays in promoting a meaningful, ambitious climate agreement and the post-2015 sustainable development agenda.
