The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Ranko Krivokapic, President of the Parliament of Montenegro and current President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the close working relationship between the UN and the OSCE on a range of issues. He also commended the efforts of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in promoting democratic governance as well as free and fair elections.
They also discussed issues related to UN – Montenegro cooperation and exchanged views on the efforts to define a post-2015 development agenda. The Secretary-General underlined the importance of sustained engagement by Parliamentarians on the crafting of a post-2015 development framework.
They further exchanged views on developments in the wider Western Balkans’ region, including the on-going dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
