Readout of the Secretary-General’s meeting with H.E. Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel

The Secretary-General met today with Israeli Prime Minister H.E. Benjamin Netanyahu.

He briefed the Prime Minister on developments at the United Nations, and future plans, relating to Syria's chemical weapons arsenal and the Secretary-General's determined efforts to convene the international conference on Syria in Geneva in mid-November.  They discussed the regional situation, including in Iran.  

The Secretary-General commended the leadership of the Israeli Prime Minister in relation to the ongoing peace talks. A number of human rights and humanitarian issues were also discussed.
