The Secretary-General met with Mr. Chuck Hagel, Secretary of Defense of the United States.  The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the Secretary Hagel’s leadership and support.  They discussed the situations in Syria, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Mali and Somalia.

The Secretary-General expressed his condolences for the victims of the tragic bombing in Boston and his appreciation of U.S. support for Mine Action and the explosive remnants of war.
